In order to guard against compromises that can bring down a company you need the right leadership and the right senior technical team. MercSec works on a retained basis for Executive Search assignments to provide the pivotal leadership talent that our clients need.

Finding highly capable technical staff is critical when looking at effective execution to improve the security posture of your organisation. MercSec consultants have been working with top security talent for nearly a decade. We have tackled assignments spanning four continents for single-man start-ups through to Big4 leadership positions. We work on assignments for CISO’s, Sales Directors, Pentesters, and everything in between, and MercSec can be a valuable weapon in your arsenal for the war for talent too.

Our headquarters are based in Sydney, Australia with presence in both Melbourne and London, and plans to establish operations in the USA in 2017/8.

As part of our Full Search offering we follow a systematic process, from cradle to grave to secure your new hire. Starting with a detailed project brief from the client, we thereafter assemble our Search Team and provide a summary proposal which details:

  • A profile of each Halcyon Knights’ recruitment specialist working on the assignment;
  • An initial elevator pitch to hook target candidates;
  • Critical information about the client and the role;
  • The likely required salary range;
  • Potential objections, and possible objection handling techniques;
  • Key hiring stakeholders within the client and their respective interview availability;
  • Date-stamped target milestones (i.e. market map, long list, short list, screening sequence including behavioural and aptitude testing, candidate selection, start dates).

This is a working document, designed to be collaborative (between the Client and Halcyon Knights) and dynamic, as in the nature of business.

Through a ‘cradle to grave’ executive search, Halcyon Knights will deploy qualitative screening to deliver to the client, comprehensive information on candidates’:

  • Track-record of material impact;
  • Referenceability;
  • Motivations for exploring the said job;
  • Risk of non-commitment to the said job;
  • Personality profile/suitability.

Supplement our deep knowledge of and interactions with board directors and senior executives across industries and roles with specific research into firms and sectors to discover people with suitable skill sets and certifications. Create a long list of candidates who are most qualified for the position, with the purpose of giving clients meaningful choices to choose.

Interviewing & Screening

Whether on-site or if international travel is required, we sit down to meet with our each candidate on our longlist to understand more about what they can uniquely bring to the position, and perform complete profiling, including DiSC Assessments and in depth background checks.
